Southwest Hungary records heavy snowfall this Wednesday (06)

The population of Somogyi County, in southwest Hungary, is facing heavy snowfall this Wednesday (06), local authorities informed the press.

Before the intense snowfall fell on the cities located in Somogyi County, rain with hail was recorded. Ice rocks fell with intensity in the Transdanubia area, west of the Danube River.

Meteorological centers reported that the hail was quickly replaced by heavy snow. This Wednesday, snow was recorded in the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas, Zala, Veszprém, Somogyi, Baranya, Tolna, Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom, Pest, Nógrád and Bács-Kiskun.

Snow removal work from streets, roads and highways has been taking place since November 10th. In addition to the human hand, numerous motorized and mechanical equipment are used for the work day during heavy snowfalls, reported Somogyi County road safety authority.
